Industrial Drum Brakes

Hindon Corp. has a variety of SIBRE industrial drum brake systems for you to choose from.  Our spring applied, fail-safe drum brakes are available in electrohydraulic, electromagnetic, hydraulic and pneumatically released versions.  All feature externally adjustable torque and a synchronization linkage for maintaining equal lining clearance.  Drum brakes work very well for holding/e-stop applications that do not generate extreme heat or high shaft speed in normal operation.  For example, if your application uses a variable frequency vector drive to control shaft speed down to almost zero RPM prior to application of the brake, the drum brake is well suited. This is a result of low rubbing speed and low braking heat generation.  Should the variable frequency vector drive fail, the drum brake remains available for emergency stopping the load.
