The SHI 251 is a heavy-duty industrial fixed caliper disc brake. It is a hydraulic fail-safe brake, meaning it is spring applied and hydraulically released.

Advantages of this caliper disc brake include its fast response time and high torque output. Its externally adjustable air-gap also makes it easy to produce a range of torque values.

This hydraulic disc brake is used primarily in holding and emergency stop applications, especially on winches and hoist drums where the brake disc is bolted onto the rope drum. As a safety brake, it is installed and designed for braking on the output shaft. When compared to a comparable floating caliper brake, fixed caliper brakes are ideal for applications with minimal space constraints. In situations where lateral space is limited, consider a comparable floating caliper model.

Hindon provides comprehensive support for SHI models including repair services and full engineering and technical support.
