The EB is a spring applied, electrohydraulic thruster (ED 121/6) released, industrial drum brake.

Advantages of this thruster brake include its torque adjustability (which enables fine-tuning of the braking process), its ease of commissioning and maintenance, and its soft / impact-free operation.

The EB is a heavy-duty but cost effective service/holding brake for braking applications that don’t generate extreme heat in normal operation (i.e., when rubbing speed is fairly low). Because of its longevity, ability to handle high duty cycles, and ability to perform in a range of ambient conditions, this thruster drum brake is an ideal service brake in steel mill applications (as a hoist or crane brake), in port applications (as a container crane brake), and on large movable structures (bridge brakes). Its reliability and low maintenance demands make it a great choice for many industrial applications, especially when hydraulics or pneumatics aren’t readily available.

Hindon provides comprehensive support for EB thruster brakes including designing new or retrofit industrial braking systems incorporating this brake and providing brake repair services for EB brakes.

We are also an official partner of EMG Automation. We stock commonly used thruster models at our South Carolina facility and perform warrantied repair services for EMG Eldro and Elhy.
