The Hindon ROPLEX™ Rotary Discharger is a versatile live bottom feeder that prevents material flow stoppages that occur in storage bins and silos. By eliminating arching and rat-holing of materials, ROPLEX™ dischargers deliver a mass flow of materials that many traditional table feeders can’t handle.
Designed with maintenance in mind, all drive elements for the ROPLEX™ discharger are located externally for easy access. ROPLEX™ dischargers accommodate all material types, including fine, moist, and lump.
Whether used for moving materials such as biosolids, limestone, tailings or wood by-products, ROPLEX™ dischargers deliver uniform and complete draw down of material for mass flow.
How It Works
The ROPLEX™ Discharger was designed by Hindon to reduce material flow stoppages commonly associated with the sloping walls of bins and silos – without the use of vibration.
The discharge system starts with a centrally located pressure relief cone that distributes solids evenly to the discharger during the loading process. The rotary plow extends from the center to the edge of the silo wall, then uniformly undercuts the solids, providing mass flow across the silo bottom. The large center discharge opening permits the handling of large particles and allows for high discharge rates.
All drives and bearings are located externally for easy access as compared to internal drives, which require confined space entry for maintenance. A large diameter bearing, located around the perimeter of the discharge opening, provides rigid support of the rotary plow and absorbs all upward and downward forces placed on the rotary plow.
The only moving part in contact with the solids is the rotary plow itself. The slow rotational speed and rugged design of the plow minimizes wear. ROPLEX™ dischargers have proven to provide over 30 years of reliable and continuous service.
The Hindon ROPLEX™ Rotary Discharger is the ideal solution for difficult flowing materials that don’t respond well to more traditional material handling techniques including screw conveyors and feeders.
Each ROPLEX™ is custom designed for the requirements of the customer’s application as well as the flow properties of the material being handled. We combine insights from a material’s flow properties with decades of practical experience working with different materials to inform the ideal solution – in this sense, our approach is both “art” and “science”. Examples of difficult flowing materials that we’re quite familiar with include: moist limestone, gypsum, sewage sludge (especially with high solids content), clay mixtures, hog fuel, bottom ash, and fly ash.
